Expanding Foam Tape is a pre-formed expanding foam sealant produced by impregnating permanently elastic, high density open cell polyurethane foam with chemically stabilised acrylics. The expanding foam tape is manufactured by partially filling the open cells with the impregnation and compressing it. Sealing properties are dependent on the level of compression and typically for weather tightness, a 4 X compression ratio is required.
Supplied pre-compressed for easy location, Flowseal remains permanently elastic and once applied will expand to fill the joint including any irregularities or imperfections by a combination of the effects of the impregnation and the back pressure of the expanding foam. It displays excellent resistance to UV, mildew and ageing and will not crack, split, bleed or dry out whilst performing throughout continuous moving cycles.

Getting the size and dimension right to suit your individual application is essential when using this material to make sure you achieve the correct seal integrity. Therefore the following compression ratio's are required;
Air, Dust & Semi Acoustic Seal - Expanded Foam Thickness = twice the gap size
Penetrating Water Seal & High Acoustic Seal - Expanded Foam Thickness = four times the gap size
Example;
Gap Size = 10mm with an air & dust seal required
Expanded foam thickness required - 10mm x 2 = 20mm
Gap Size = 10mm with a water seal required
Expanded foam thickness required - 10mm x 4 = 40mm
